Hospital Venzano
El edificio del Hospital Zonal de El Bolsón fue inaugurado como Sala de Primeros Auxilios en el año 1943.
El hospital posee el mismo estilo arquitectónico que otros edificios públicos que formaron parte de la obra del entonces gobernador Adalberto Pagano.
El hospital lleva actualmente el nombre de Rodolfo Venzano, médico de la localidad desde 1935 hasta su fallecimiento, debido a todo lo que hizo por el pueblo.
Proveniente de Buenos Aires, con 28 años de edad y el título de médico cirujano en mano partió hacia el sur del país. Residió en Bariloche desde 1933 hasta 1935, época en la que integró el primer Centro Asistencial de la región.
El doctor Venzano fue uno de los primeros médicos en arribar a El Bolsón allá por el año 1935 a instancias de algunos pobladores de El Bolsón que se acercaron a Bariloche a solicitar la presencia en su comarca de un médico que atendiera a los lugareños.
Rodolfo Venzano fue director del hospital de El Bolsón durante diez años (1943-1953) y en la década del sesenta ocupó el cargo de director de Asistencia Social de la Provincia de Rio Negro, teniendo estrechos vínculos personales y profesionales con Arturo Frondizi.
Fue médico particular y atendía a quien lo necesitara, muchas veces sin cobrar un centavo o recibiendo como pago algunos huevos o alguna rica comida. Debió atender todo tipo de enfermedades y actuó como dentista, partero y farmacéutico --utilizando gran cantidad de hierbas y plantas de la zona como medicina.
Cuando Venzano andaba por las montañas --debido a su afición y amor hacia ellas--, la enfermera que quedaba de guardia en el hospital hacía un humo espeso en la chimenea por si se requería su presencia y entonces emprendía la vuelta para atender un parto o la fractura de algún paisano que se había caído del caballo.
Rodolfo Venzano no sólo fue médico sino una de las personalidades más multifacéticas que haya habitado el pueblo de El Bolsón: aviador, esquiador, montañista recurrente e incansable, taxista, boticario y farmacéutico, rescatista de montaña, pintor, botánico y eximio estudioso del medio natural desde todas sus dimensiones, buscador infatigable de nuevos desafíos, geógrafo, geólogo, periodista.
Conoció, difundió, defendió y amó como pocos las montañas, bosques, lagos, lagunas, la flora y fauna de la comarca y sus alrededores siendo uno de los primeros impulsores del turismo en la localidad.
En sus caminatas fue relevando topográficamente la zona y en la década de 1940 elaboró y publicó luego uno de los primeros mapas topográficos que ha servido a cientos de turistas y mochileros.

Hospital and doctor Venzano
El Bolsón Zonal Hospital building was inaugurated as a First Aid Room in 1943.
As in other public buildings that were part of the work of the governor Adalberto Pagano, the hospital has the same architectural style.
Given the growth in the number of inhabitants and the consequent demand, in 2009 a major expansion of the building was inaugurated (with 4,050 m2 of construction), preserving the original facade without alterations.
Cause all Dr. Venzano did for the people at that time, he is remembered as an iconic figure and the hospital is named his name.
Coming from Buenos Aires, with 28 years of age and the title of surgeon in hand, he left to the south of the country. He lived in Bariloche from 1933 to 1935, at which time he joined first Assistance Center in the region.
Dr. Venzano was one of the first doctors to arrive to El Bolsón back in 1935 at the request of some residents of El Bolsón who came to Bariloche to request the presence in their region of a doctor who cared for the locals.
Rodolfo Venzano was director of El Bolsón hospital for ten years (1943-1953) and in the 60s he held the position of director of Social Assistance for the Province of Rio Negro, having close personal and professional ties with Arturo Frondizi.
He was a private doctor and attended to whoever needed him, many times without charging or receiving some eggs or some delicious food as payment. He had to attend to all kinds of illnesses and acted as a dentist, midwife and pharmacist - using a large number of local herbs and plants as medicine.
When Venzano walked through the mountains - due to his fondness and love for them - the nurse who was on duty at the hospital would make a thick smoke in the fireplace in case his presence was required and then he would return to attend a delivery or the fracture of some civilian who had fallen from his horse.
Rodolfo Venzano was not only a doctor but one of the most multifaceted personalities that the town of El Bolson has ever inhabited: aviator, skier, recurrent and tireless mountaineer, taxi driver, apothecary and pharmacist, mountain rescue worker, painter, botanist and distinguished scholar of the natural environment from all its dimensions, tireless seeker of new challenges, geographer, geologist, journalist.
He knew, disseminated, defended and loved like few others the mountains, forests, lakes, lagoons, the flora and fauna of the region and its surroundings, being one of the first promoters of tourism in the area.
In his walks he surveyed the area topographically and in the 1940s he drew up and later published one of the first topographic maps that has served hundreds of tourists and backpackers.
